Please support the monthly Food Bank "Brown Bag"
On the first Sunday of the month, St. Ambrose parishioners show their generosity by “brown bagging” donations for the local food pantry. Please consider bringing a bag of non-perishable food or cleaning products. Just leave your bag in the vestibule as you arrive for Mass. Thank you!

CCD and Youth Ministry News

  • First Eucharist will be celebrated on Sunday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church.
  • First Eucharist Practice for second graders will be on Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church. All students and at least one parent are expected to participate at practice. Please bring your completed textbook and banner.
  • Because so many are asking... CCD and Youth Ministry will end the year on Sunday, May 17, with the End-of-the-Year Program at J.A.G. Elem. School.

Last Call - Women's Renewal
CRHPThe St. Ambrose/St. Michael Christ Renews His Parish Women's Renewal will be held on May 16-17, 2015 at Camp Asbury. You may register online or pick up an invitation in the vestibule. Altar and Rosary Society needs your help!!
It takes a lot of effort to set up a rummage sale, and the ladies would appreciate any help on Wednesday, April 22, between 6:00 - 7:00 pm to help move tables and the many items for the sale from the garage to the hall. Refreshments will be available.

All women of the parishes are welcome! There are no dues. Come to any or all meetings! Information/calendar available in the vestibule. Next meeting is Thursday, April 23, at 7:00 pm in the hall. Hostess is Michelle Ward Clayton.

Knights of Columbus Fundraiser
K of CThe St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity fundraiser through Ruby Tuesday in Streetsboro March 20-22 and April 17-19. Ruby Tuesday will return 20% of your total dining receipt to the St. Ambrose Knights; Cals will return 10%. The program benefits the K of C Scholarship fund and Garrettsville-Nelson Food Shelf. Simply download and print a copy of the approriate flyer and present it to the restaurant.

Friends of Melana Run/Walk
The Friends of Melana Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation is hosting the 5th Annual Friends of Melana 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Sunday, June 28, at 9:00 AM. All proceeds go to the Children's Glioma Brain Cancer Foundation, Friends of Melana, to be used for glioma cancer research. Participants in the event are also encouraged to seek monetary pledges for the cause. Call Norm Fashing, 330.527.8093, for additional race information (www.stopkidscancer.org).

Family Bowling Party
St. Ambrose Parish Social Life Committee will be hosting a Family Bowling Party on Sunday, April 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Sky Lanes Bowling Alley. Everyone gets free shoe rental and two free games. Even if you don't bowl, it's a great way to socialize with other parishioners. Wedding Anniversaries
The Office of Marriage and Family Ministry, Diocese of Youngstown, will be sponsoring two Wedding Anniversary Celebrations honoring couples who will observe their 25th, 40th, 50th and over, wedding anniversary in 2015. Couples may register for the date most convenient for them.

  • Sunday, June 14, at 2:00 pm at St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown. Please register at the parish office by May 14.
  • Sunday, October 11, at 2:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Church, Canton. Registrations will be taken at a later date for the Canton celebration.

Night to Honor Mary
A Night to Honor Mary will be held Friday, May 8, at 7:00 pm at St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown, and on Friday, May 22, at 7:00 pm at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Canton. The Most Rev. George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of Youngstown, will preside at both of these devotional services to honor our Blessed Mother. All are invited to attend the services that will include scripture readings, a homily, hymns and recitation of the rosary.

Knights of Columbus
K of C• St. Ambrose Council 11801 - Meets the second (business) and fourth social) Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the St. Ambrose hall.
Windham K of C - The Windham Knights of Columbus meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the St. Michael hall.

Food Cupboard

The Windham Knights of Columbus has started an ongoing food drive through St. Michael’s Church. Canned vegetables, canned soup, cereal and peanut butter are the most needed items. However, any non-perishable items are fine. Please check the expiration date before donating. We would like to thank you for your generosity in advance.

Bike Blessing
Our annual Bike Blessing at St. Michael Church is scheduled for Sunday, April 26. Rain or Shine! We need donations of pop, water, side dishes, and desserts (finger foods such as brownies, cookies, etc.). We are also accepting monetary donations to help defray the cost of the hamburgers and hot dogs. To help, please call Joan Duman at 330-326-2019.
