Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults The R.C.I.A. is a formation process for adults (18 years of age and older) who wish to become Catholic. Classes are held in the rectory or church hall for learning, faith sharing and fellowship. If you or someone you know may be interested in becoming Catholic and being involved in the R.C.I.A. classes, please call the rectory.
Holy Year of Mercy (Dec. 8, 2015 - Nov. 20, 2016) To celebrate the Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis, St. Ambrose will be collecting different items each month to be donated to those in need. During the month of June, we will collect desserts; cake, brownie, jello, and pudding mixes. As always you, the parishioners, have been extremely generous. Thank you so much!
Corpus Christi Sunday
We will be celebrating Corpus Christi Sunday Sunday, May 29, with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 12:15 pm, Divine Mercy Chaplet at 1:30 pm, and ending with Benediction at 2:30 pm.
Summer Mass Schedule Our summer Mass schedule begins Sunday, June 5. Sunday Masses will be at 9:00 am at St. Michael and 10:30 am at St. Ambrose. The Saturday Vigil Mass at St. Ambrose remains at 5:00 p.m.
Anointing of the Sick We will celebrate the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick on Saturday, May 28, at 6:00 pm at St. Ambrose Church. At this time we will anoint with the Church’s Holy Oil of the Infirm those of our parishes who are sick, chronically ill, infirmed by age or facing surgery.
CCD and Youth Ministry News
CCD Wants You!! - Our religious education program is in need of co-catechists and/or aides to help in the following grades; kindergarten and grades 1, 3 and 5. Volunteers must be able to attend a short child protection class and pass a background check. Please call Jackie at 330-719-7115 for more information.
Youth Ministry Hosts Blood Drive - Our youth group will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, July 21. We need youth group volunteers to help out and make this drive successful. Please call Mrs. Kable at 330-527-4822 or 330-527-4105 if you would like to volunteer.
CCD and Youth Ministry Registration - Any student wishing to attend CCD (preschool to grade 8) or Youth Ministry (grades 9 to12) and is not currently attending must fill out a pink registration form found in the church vestibule. Place the registration form in the collection basket, drop it off at the rectory, or mail it to the church. Please include a copy of the student’s baptismal certificate. (Preschoolers must be age four by September 30.)
Get to the Point
Youth group is planning a chartered bus trip to Cedar Point on Thursday, June 15. We will meet at St. Ambrose at 8:30 am and return at 11:30 pm. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. Please call 330-527-4105 for more information or to sign up.

The Friends of Melana Run/Walk The Friends of Melana Foundation is organizing the 6th Annual Friends of Melana 5k run and 1 mile fun run/walk to be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Garrettsville Summerfest. Sister Parish In your May/June contribution packets, there will be a specially marked envelope for those who wish to make a monetary donation to our brothers and sisters at our “sister parish” in El Salvador, San Rafael. Council 11801 Fundraiser The St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity fundraiser through Cal's restaurant in Garrettsvillethat benefits the K of C/Charles Abraham Scholarship fund and Garrettsville-Nelson Food Shelf. K of C Scholarship Applications being accepted Applications are being accepted for the yearly Knights of Columbus scholarship. This scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a graduating senior in this year's class, based on registered status of your family within St. Ambrose parish and a regular attendee of the Youth Group. The scholarship will be used for any higher education and will be distributed after a successful fall semester. food drive through St. Michael’s Church. Canned vegetables,
