Presentation of the Gifts The book for the entire 2016 year is available in the vestibule for parishioners to sign up to present the gifts of bread and wine at our weekend liturgies. If there is a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc.) that you would like to reserve to bring up the gifts, please be sure to sign up early.

Year of Mercy "Leaving the Light on - An evening of Reconciliation" As part of the diocesan celebration of the Year of Mercy, most parishes will participate in "Leaving the Light on - An evening of Reconciliation" on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 7:00 - 7:30pm.
CCD and Youth Ministry News
Parent Session - First Eucharist Second grade parents will have their first parent preparation session Sunday, Feb. 7, at 10:00 am in the elementary school. The second session will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 10:00 am. These sessions are required if your child is to receive the sacraments.
Lenten Food Drive - Grades K thru 8 will be collecting canned goods and paper products from Feb. 14 thru March 20 for the food cupboard. Students should bring items to CCD. The class that collects the most items per child will enjoy breakfast at McDonald's.
CCD Candy Sale - Our CCD students will begin selling Malley candy bars in three varieties plus taking orders for all types of candies on Jan. 31. If you would like to purchase any candy, please contact a CCD student or call the rectory at 330-527-4105. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Old Palms for Ash Wednesday Ashes
Please bring your old palms to church. On Sunday, Feb. 7, our Youth Group will participate in a prayer service in which the palms will be burned. The ashes from the burned palms will be used on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 10). Place palms in basket in vestibule.
Holy year of Mercy To celebrate the Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis, St. Ambrose will be collecting different items each month to be donated to those in need. During the month of February, we will collect diapers for the Coleman Pregnancy Center in Kent, an organization that helps pregnant woman have healthy babies. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
Parish Mission St. Ambrose Church is hosting a Parish Mission to be held on Sunday, March 6, Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8 in the church from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The presenter is Jim Merhaut, founder and director of Coaching to Connect. The mission topic is Family Holiness: Finding the Treasure Within. A reception in the church hall will follow the Tuesday session. Babysitting is available. Watch the bulletin for more information as Lent approaches.

Labels for Education St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus are teaming up with James A. Garfield Schools for a "Box Tops for Education"/"Labels for Education"drive. The school receives money for every UPC label and box top submitted. For participating products and a printable product list, visit BoxTops 4 Education. Council 11801 Fundraiser The St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity fundraiser through Cal's restaurant in Garrettsville that benefits the K of C/Charles Abraham Scholarship fund and Garrettsville-Nelson Food Shelf.
