Please support the monthly Food Bank "Brown Bag"
On the first Sunday of the month, St. Ambrose parishioners show their generosity by “brown bagging” donations for the local food pantry. Please consider bringing a bag of non-perishable food or cleaning products. Just leave your bag in the vestibule as you arrive for Mass. Thank you!

CCD and Youth Ministry News

  • CCD Candy Sale - Our CCD students will begin selling Malley candy bars in three varieties plus taking orders for all types of candies beginning Feb. 1. If you would like to purchase any candy, please contact a CCD student or call the rectory at 330-527-4105. Your support is greatly appreciated.
  • Youth Ministry will meet Sunday, Feb. 8, at 10:00 am at the J. A. Garfield Elementary School.

Old Palms for Ash Wednesday Ashes
Please bring your old palms to church. On Sunday, Feb. 15, our Youth Group will participate in a prayer service in which the palms will be burned. The ashes from the burned palms will be used on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 18). Place palms in basket in vestibule.

Men Who Cook
Catholic Charities Serving Portage and Stark Counties will have its annual "Men Who Cook" event in Portage County on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 6:00 pm, at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Ravenna. For ticket information, contact Catholic Charities Serving Portage and Stark Counties at 330-297-7745.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter
Marriage EncounterThe Responsorial Psalm today says, "Teach me your ways, O Lord!" Do we allow the Lord to teach us His ways so that we can love and honor our spouse more each day? Let the Lord strengthen, renew, and rekindle your marriage sacrament by attending a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend on Feb. 13-15 at the Cambria Suites in Uniontown, Ohio. Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
On Friday, Feb. 6, we will once again have a dinner for all adult men and women who volunteered in any capacity throughout the past year at St. Ambrose parish. The dinner will take place at the K of C Hall in Mantua (State Rte. 44). There is a $15.00 charge for any non-volunteer spouse or guest. See the bulletin for the registration form.

Knights of Columbus Fundraiser
K of CThe St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus is hosting a charity fundraiser through Ruby Tuesday in Streetsboro Jan. 16-18 and Feb 20-22, and at Cal's in Garrettsviile Jan. 12, and Feb. 13. Ruby Tuesday will return 20% of your total dining receipt to the St. Ambrose Knights; Cals will return 10%. The program benefits the K of C Scholarship fund and Garrettsville-Nelson Food Shelf. Simply download and print a copy of the approriate flyer and present it to the restaurant.

Food Cupboard

The Windham Knights of Columbus has started an ongoing food drive through St. Michael’s Church. Canned vegetables, canned soup, cereal and peanut butter are the most needed items. However, any non-perishable items are fine. Please check the expiration date before donating. We would like to thank you for your generosity in advance.

Annual Valentine's Special Bingo
St. Michael is hosting their Annual Valentine's Special Bingo on Sunday, Feb. 15. Games start at 1:30 p.m. Great Fun! Great Food! Great Games! There will be refreshments, raffles, baked goods, and a gift table. Please come out and support us! If you cannot make it consider making a donation of a new item or baked good for our Gift Raffle Table. For donations contact Tricia at 330-326-1230 or Karen at 330-326-2972. Thanks in advance!!

St. Patrick's Day Dinner/Dance
St. Michael will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day Dinner/Dance on Saturday, March 14, at 6:30 pm in the parish hall. We will also have a Chinese Auction and a 50/50 drawing! We will be serving corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, salad, bread/butter, coffee, punch, and dessert! For those who prefer the "Italian" meal there will be pasta! It will be BYOB! Palm Sunday Dinner
St. Michael Church is hosting their annual Palm Sunday Dinner on March 29, from 11:00 am. to 3:00 pm. All are welcome! There will be turkey and dressing, cabbage rolls, pasta, salads, homemade desserts, and more. Please come and support St. Michael's Church. Adults $11.00, Children 12 & under $6.00, Children 5 & under are free. For donations or to help please contact Tricia 330-326-1230 or Karen 330-326-2972. We look forward to seeing you!
