Please support the monthly Food Bank "Brown Bag"
On the first Sunday of the month, St. Ambrose parishioners show their generosity by “brown bagging” donations for the local food pantry. Please consider bringing a bag of non-perishable food or cleaning products. Just leave your bag in the vestibule as you arrive for Mass. Thank you!

The Parish Social Life Committee will host a light reception following the Easter Vigil to welcome the newest members of our Church family. Please plan to join us.

Bible Study
Bible Study will be held Monday, April 21, in the hall at 7:00 pm. All are welcome.

Divine Mercy Sunday
Sunday, April 27, is Divine Mercy Sunday. Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration will be available from 12:15 until 3:30 pm at St. Ambrose Church. Prayer during Exposition will include the Rosary & periods of silent adoration, and conclude with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy & Benediction. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be available from 2:45-3:15 pm.

CCD and Youth Ministry News

  • CCD and Youth Ministry - There will be no class April 20. Classes resume Sunday, April 27.
  • Malley Candy Sale - All monies were due on April 13. If you still owe candy money, it can be turned in at CCD April 27.
  • Confirmation - All current seventh/eighth grade students (and above) who have received the Sacraments of Baptism/Holy Eucharist and have completed eight years of religious instruction are eligible to receive this sacrament. Plans are being formulated now for classes to be held in the fall (2014) or spring (2015)

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The next meeting of the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be Monday, April 21, at 6:00 pm in the rectory. We welcome new members to join us as we meet on the third Monday evening of each month. Don’t forget to fill out a card for someone you would like to receive a prayer shawl!

Rummage Sale/Bake Sale & A-R Meeting
The Alatar & Rosary Society will meet Thursday, April 24, at 7:00 pm in the church hall. The rummage sale will be Friday, April 25, (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) and Saturday, April 26, (9:00 am to 1:00 pm). Saturday is “bag day” (only $2.00/bag). CLEAN and USABLE clothing and items are still welcome for donation. Please bring them to the garage at St. Ambrose.

Bishop Murry’s Visit
On Saturday, May 3, Bishop Murry will be coming to the 5:00 pm Mass to install Fr. Stephen Zeigler as pastor of St. Ambrose and St. Michael. Parishioners from both parishes are encouraged to attend.

May Crowning
On Saturday, May 3, we will have our annual May Crowning before the 5:00 Mass. Children of last year’s First Communion class will participate as a crown is placed on the statue of Mary in our sanctuary.

Grief Gathering
Beginning Wednesday, April 23, the Social Action Ministry will sponsor a six-week grief gathering for the parish and the community. Sessions will run each Wednesday in the church hall from 7:00 to 9:00 pm through May 28. Anyone who has lost a loved one or anyone who would like to learn more about the process of grieving is invited to attend. Please call the rectory at 330-527-4105 if you wish to attend.

Knights of Columbus
K of C• St. Ambrose Council 11801 - Meets the second (business) and fourth social) Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the St. Ambrose hall.
Windham K of C - The Windham Knights of Columbus meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the St. Michael hall.

Food Cupboard

The Windham Knights of Columbus has started an ongoing food drive through St. Michael’s Church. Canned vegetables, canned soup, cereal and peanut butter are the most needed items. However, any non-perishable items are fine. Please check the expiration date before donating. We would like to thank you for your generosity in advance.

Bike Blessing
Our annual Bike Blessing at St. Michael Church is scheduled for Sunday, April 27. Rain or Shine! We need donations of pop, water, side dishes, and desserts (finger foods such as brownies, cookies, etc.). We are also accepting monetary donations to help defray the cost of the hamburgers and hot dogs. To help, please call Joan Duman at 330-326-2019.

Mother’s Day Breakfast
On Sunday, May 11, immediately after the 9:00 am Mass the Windham Knights of Columbus is hosting the Annual Mother’s Day Breakfast in the church hall. All women are invited to join us.

Boy Scouts of America
Boy Scouts of AmericaTroop 62 (4062) of the Boy Scouts of America meets in the St. Ambrose church hall on Thursday evenings at 7 pm. The troop is located in Garrettsville Ohio and covers Garrettsville, Windham and Hiram.

Garrettsville “Fire Rock Relief” Benefit Concert
... Saturday, April 26th from 12 to 9 pm at the G-Plex in Garrettsville. This classic rock cover band concert will help rebuild historic Main Street in downtown Garrettsville and assist the local businesses destroyed by the March 22nd fire, including the Nelson-Garrettsville Community Cupboard, which assists area families in need. All proceeds will go directly to the affected business owners. The G-Plex is located at 10340 Industrial Street, Garrettsville.
